Everyone has the midnight snack craving. But, don’t throw away all your hard work of fueling your body with positive energy by eating an unhealthy food. If you really want to treat yourself, but not totally try this healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Remember, looks can be deceiving.
Unhealthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:

- Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 egg
Step 1: Pour mix into bowl.
Step 2: Add egg and softened butter.
Step 3: Mix together.
Step 4: Scoop dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
Step 5: Bake in 350 degree oven for seven minutes or until golden brown.
Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup oat flour (regular oats blended into small pieces)
- ½ cup old-fashioned oats
- ¼ quick oats
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ coconut oil
- ½ chocolate chips
Step 1: Blend old-fashioned oats into oat flour.
Step 2: Stir oat flour (measured after blending), old-fashioned oats, quick oats, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Step 3: In another bowl, combine vanilla extract, egg, and brown sugar.
Step 4: In a different bowl, melt coconut oil into liquid and let it cool for fifteen seconds.
Step 5: Add coconut oil to the bowl containing vanilla extract, egg, and brown sugar.
Step 6: Stir the ingredients together.
Step 7: Combine wet ingredients with the dry ingredients.
Step 8: Stir the ingredients together.
Step 9: Add chocolate chips to the mix.
Step 10: Place the bowl in the refrigerator for fifteen minutes to allow the coconut oil to harden in the mix.
Step 11: Take the bowl out of the refrigerator, scoop dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
Step 12: Bake in 350 degree oven for eight minutes or until golden.

I know you can do this. You already went to the gym today and even if you didn't, resist the urge to grab the unhealthy cookie. It will pay off in the future. You should try something new, change adds an element of excitement to your life. Spice up your life with the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. It tastes better anyways; it's softer and sweeter. It's still a dessert, just with less calories. Remember, don't judge a book by it's cover. The healthy one may not look appealing, but your taste buds will be happy with your decision.
